DIPTYCHS MILANESE

[ARCHITECTURE _HARVARD GSD // SPRING 2023]

A new look at the city of Milan through two diptychs. One explores the architectural make-up of Milan, isolating both the historic expansion of the city through its series of concentric walls and the series of twin typologies found throughout the city that frame the various city gates and piazzas. The second diptych shows the juxtaposed “interior” and “exterior” spaces of the city; the night scene is a future projection of the commercialization of such a historic layered city, while the day scene depicts an everyday moment in a typical Milanese courtyard from the perspective of a local resident.
