CONCRETE PIXELS

[ARCHITECTURE _HARVARD GSD  // SPRING 2020]

The urban sport shed is a particularly pragmatic situation that requires the creation of various environments, both interior and exterior, containing relatively homogenous functions. Beginning with a spatial bay, scaling up to long span and scaling down to occupation and ground, the limits of the original form are pushed to cater to layered program, and a triangular site. Designed like a series of nested tables, the varying density and size of the stepped legs create spaces encouraging interaction with the site and architecture. To further explore the impact of using both delicate and imposing features, layered glass brick infill act as the partitions between different bays, allowing for privacy or transparency when needed, but with a constant distortion of image, pixelated by the square panes.
